DALGONA COFFEE LATTE

It's been a raining dalgona coffee latte pictures everywhere! So I just can't let my self away from it. Two days ago, I decided to create one dalgona coffee latte my own, for a lazy afternoon at home, since we cannot go hangout at a cafe or so.

Btw, how's your #stayathome and #physicaldistancing situation going? Here in Indonesia, it's been almost 4 weeks since our government stated an emergency situation. I, my self, only get outta house for some groceries and also giving some packages to courier person who delivered my customers orders. So to kill the time, I think, why don't we get into this viral thingy once in a while and make Dalgona Coffee latte since my husband and I are also coffee person too.

I heard that the key of making this dalgona coffee latte and get a perfect coffee foam in a caramel colors is just a perfect use of ingredients. An exact number that we cannot play more or less. It is a science! And since it goes so viral during this #physicaldistancing mode, believe it or not, this specific brand of instant coffee sachet is even sold out everywhere! Super crazy, rite?

So what's this dalgona coffee latte actually? Based on what I have read, Dalgona is actually a traditional candy from Korea that made from caramelized sugar and baking powder. This foamy caramel color of dalgona then inspired this drink to be called as Dalgona coffee.

my version of Dalgona coffee latte

DALGONA COFFEE LATTE

1 tbs instant coffee (i use nescafe classic)
1 tbs sugar
1 tbs hot water
1 pax of milk (i use frisian flag coconut delight)
Ice cube

Toppings:
Sprinkle of van houten chocolate powder
Roma marie biscuit
Mint

So, how to make this Dalgona Coffee Latte?

At first, lets make the most important thing of all, the coffee foam/froth.

You can mix the instant coffee with sugar and hot water together using whisk, strainer or like me, the easiest eay: using mixer hahaha.

Remember to have a proper exact 1 : 1 : 1 for the coffee, sugar and water so it can form a stiff foam. I took around 2-3
minutes i guess.

If your foam is this stiffed and got its peak, it means you're dalgona coffee is almost ready!

Now lets make the milk and coffee mix!

Voila! We are done here! Now it is the time to enjoy it! It is a big glass but I manage to drink it till the very last drop with my husband. It is soooo guuuud!

The milk that I used is honestly the rite one because it taste creamier, not too strong and not too mild. It makes the taste richer and the sugar amount is just spot on. Not too sweet though. Love it! Gotta make another bacth next time, maybe with the real dalgona candy on top. What do you think? 😛
