lante satu time
finally got a chance to stop by this comfy coffee shop nearby my office. it's saturday and i have no plans to meet anyone so here i am now. at kedai lante satu.
located in kemanggisan raya no B 4 unit D, west jakarta, this place isn't hard to find at all. for you who have known where Binus campus is, you can just go to the tanjung duren direction and find this cafe in a "ruko" building not too far from the traffic light.
today i choose to have single origin toraja kalossi. hot black coffee for a fine afternoon. i'm craving for mandailing today, but unfortunately they only have toraja, bali kintamani, aceh gayo and sumatra lintong. so here's my coffee, with a french press, cute vintage green mug and a brass spoon.
i always in love with how mandailing can have a strong great smell, unlike any toraja coffee. but still, i love today's sip. this bitterness really reminds me how life can actually has a sweet side also :)
this toraja isn't really acid. at first, i tried "a virgin toraja" without any sugar. a bit bitter. it has no sweetness at all. but again, the acidity isn't there also. i don't know for sure about the different between this toraja kalossi with the other toraja i have been sipped before, but it feels like having a lower acid taste, for me.
the place is nice by the way. wooden floor with a big look-like-window-mirror on one side of wall, a sofa made from a car bemper (i don't know what is called in english, the back part of the car), some great photos by a great photographer, timur angin as the owner of this coffee shop and wooden bar.
the price is quite friendly since it is located not too far from a campus and a student apartment. the origin coffee is around 13.5 thousand rupiah, the frappe is about 20 thousand and the food is not more than 32 thousand rupiah. they have some heavy food if you'd like to have lunch or dinner in this place. if i'm not mistaken, maybe the family owner has a javanese or maybe maduranese roots, since i found they put some batik madura on one fine spot in this cafe.
with me today is my managing editor from the magazine company where i do my work, yenni. we're just busy doing our own stuff here and yes, we love this place!
and while i'm writing this, i'm still sitting on this cafe, with timur angin's father, the famous seno gumira in the table beside me, seriously typing. oh i'm nervously shaking!
